01. Same Remedy, But Different Names - No More Confusion!
Once our pioneers had a clash over the name of a remedy- Cimicifuga vs Actea Racemosa. One group proposed Cimicifuga and the other group proposed Actea Racemosa. And finally, as a compromise, most of the homeopaths use Cimicifuga-Actea Racemosa. Similarly, there are a few more medicines in homeopathy having different names used in labeling, materia medica description, and most importantly while giving a prescription. The use of different names for the same medicine can confuse the pharmacists, students and also the doctors who are not familiar with the synonyms.
When I was a student, I had a bet with my classmates. In our college OPD, we had a case of Bronchial asthma with a strong modality- breathlessness relieved by passing stool. Pothos is the only remedy for this indication, I strongly suggested. But my classmates were not ready to agree, they said, there is one more remedy called Ictodes. A few students supported me, but the majority in the other group. Finally we referred some books and felt sorry for an unnecessary argument, because Pothos and Ictodes are the same remedy! The name given in the materia medica is Pothos and the repertories give Ictodes.
On another occasion, I prescribed Ox gall 6X for a gall stone patient. Immediately, the patient reported that it is not available in the nearby pharmacy. When I changed the prescription by writing the synonym Fel Tauri 6 X, it was available there!
In India, some medicines are marketed and prescribed as per the common names instead of the scientific name. Example: Brahmi Q, 1x, 3x etc is prescribed by many, but the scientific name Bacopa moneeri is also used by many pharmacies.

Golondrina - Euphorbia polycarpa W. Boericke has written Golondrina, and Blackwood has written Euphorbia. Both are same.
Verbascum thapsus is also used in homeopathy as Mullein oil, which is Verbascum Q mixed with Glycerin.
Drugs prepared from acids can also confuse while dispensing. For example: Some pharmacies label Acid Nitricum and others mention Nitric acid or Nitricum Acidum.
While giving prescription, we make a great mistake by writing only the genus name of the medicine, without writing the species name. Prescribing only “Phytolacca” is meaningless, because we have Phytolacca decandra and Phytolacca berry. True that some remedies are more popular, for example: If anybody prescribe Aconite, most probably it is Aconitum Napellus. Acon Napellus is popular, but we have different varieties of Aconite such as: A.napellus, A.anthora, A.cammarum, A.columbianum, A.ferox, A.lycotonum, A.septentrionale etc.
Some materia medica books also confuse the readers. In Allen's keynotes, the drug picture of Tarentulla cubensis and Tarent hispanica are written together as a single drug.
Dr Mas from Pakistan has very clearly pointed out the confusion created by some companies while marketing Silicea (Marketed as Silicicum acidum)
To avoid the confusion, use the scientific names that are accepted worldwide. This is the main intention behind the introduction of Binomial nomenclature by Carolus Linnaeus.

Varicocele

🌐VARICOCELE AND IT'S HOMOEOPATHIC TREATMENT ::::::
✳INTRODUCTION ::
A varicocele is an enlargement of the veins within the loose bag of skin that holds your testicles (scrotum).
✳CAUSES::::
varicocele forms when the valves inside the veins in the cord prevent your blood from flowing properly

The resulting backup causes the veins to widen (dilate).

This might cause damage to the testicle and result in worsened fertility.

Varicoceles often form during puberty. 
❇Varicoceles usually occur on the left side, most likely because of the position of the left testicular vein.
✳Risk factors ::::
There don't appear to be any significant risk factors for developing a varicocele.
✳Symptoms::::::
A varicocele often produces no signs or symptoms. Rarely, it might cause pain. The pain may:
✅Vary from sharp to dull discomfort
✅Increase with standing or physical exertion, especially over long periods
✅Worsen over the course of a day
✅Be relieved when you lie on your back
✅Impaired fertility
✅With time, varicoceles might enlarge and become more noticeable. 
❇A varicocele has been described as looking like a "bag of worms." The condition might cause a swollen testicle, almost always on the left side.
🌐 NOTE ::::Varicoceles are a common cause of low sperm production and decreased sperm quality, which can cause infertility. However, not all varicoceles affect sperm production. Varicoceles can also cause testicles to fail to develop normally or shrink.
✳COMPLICATIONS ::;::
A varicocele might cause:
✅Shrinkage of the affected testicle (atrophy). The bulk of the testicle comprises sperm-producing tubules. When damaged, as from varicocele, the testicle shrinks and softens. It's not clear what causes the testicle to shrink, but the malfunctioning valves allow blood to pool in the veins, which can result in increased pressure in the veins and exposure to toxins in the blood that may cause testicular damage.
Infertility. 
✅Varicoceles might keep the local temperature in or around the testicle too high, affecting sperm formation, movement (motility) and function.
🌐HOMOEOPATHIC TREATMENT OF VARICOCELE:::
Homeopathy treatment works very well in mild to moderate cases of the Varicocele. They act at the root to stop recurrence of the disease process. These medicines stimulate the disease-fighting mechanism of the body. As the healing system of the body is strengthened, the disease is completely eradicated.
❇ARNICA :::;
In case of a swollen penis, especially after injury, Arnica is considered one of the outstanding medicines for varicocele. Severe pain in the spermatic cord and bruised genitals are usually indicated in cases where Arnica will work best. Testicles relax with hot swelling of the scrotum. Varicocele with violent continued erections and impotency from sexual excess or abuse is treated well with Arnica.
❇HEMAMELIS::::::
Varicocele with enlarged testicles or testicles that are hot and painful when touched is treated well with Hamamelis. Hamamelis is also one of the most well indicated medicines for varicocele with severe inflammation of the testicles (orchitis) and marked palpable veins.
❇RHUS TOX:::::
Varicocele with intense itching. Edema of the scrotum and the penis after recurrence of fever is treated well with Rhus Toxicodendron. In some cases metastasis of mumps to testis occurs and this calls for prescription of Rhus Tox....
❇PULSATILLAA::::
severe inflammation of the testicles accompanied by pain radiating from the abdomen to the testicles. Great soreness of the testes and the testicles hang low down. Enlarged prostate, hydrocele, varicocele with venous congestion of the penis are treated well with Pulsatilla. Other associated symptoms for Pulsatilla prescription are nocturnal emissions, sexual excesses resulting in headache, backache and pain in the limbs.
❇ZINC METALLICUM :::::
When this remedy is needed, the legs are fidgety and restless, with weakness in the muscles, crawling sensations, and a tendency to twitch. varicocele may develop, with pain and soreness that are worse from touch. The person may feel worse from alcohol, especially wine.
❇NUX VOMICA::::
Varicocele with constricting pain in the penis. 
A person suffering from this condition may complain of premature ejaculation.

When a person is suffering from pain like neuralgic pain due to burning sensation of the waist nerves or femoral nerves, it is called sciatica. In general, people call it as ‘Sciatica’.
Causes-
Living in much cold, dry or moist air is the reason of occurring sciatica in any person. Besides them, this disease is also occurred by lifting any heavy weight. Mostly, this disease is occurred due to forming gas inside the stomach, joints pain or neuralgic pain etc. If this disease in not treated on time, it can be the possibility of disease like locomotors atexiudh.
Treatment of this disease by following drugs:
1. Amon-mur- If sciatica of a person is aggravated due to sitting at the same place for a long time and is ameliorated by walking and cured completely while sleeping, giving Amon-mur 3x or 3 is very useful.
2. Colocynth- In the condition of sciatica, if pain occurs suddenly or due to exposure to cold, Colocynth 1 or 3 is beneficial.
3. Naphelium- Naphelium 3 or 30 should be given in the symptoms like- cramps with fast pain in the nerves, numbness with fast pain of the affected part, etc.
4. Lyco- conGiving Lyco 12 is very useful in the condition of filling gas in the right organs of the body, aggravating disease in the evening or by touching the painful part, etc. tain
5. Carbonium-sulph- If well chosen remedy (drugs) makes no impression in the chronic sciatica or in the beginning of it, giving Carbonium-sulph provides fast relief.
6. Arsenic- If sciatica or paralysis occurs in old or weak person, giving Arsenic 3 is appropriate. Besides it, hot fomentation is also beneficial.
7. Rhus-tox- If a person has suffered from sciatica due to over wetting, giving Rhus-tox 6 is beneficial.
8. Aconite-If sciatica occurs due to fast air, the patient feels numbness in his body, using Aconite 3x is very useful.
9. Lachesis- If sciatica is aggravated after menopause or after waking up, using Lachesis 3 or 30 is very effective in such types of symptoms.
10. Magnesia-phos- If a sciatica patient feels pain like electric shock which is ameliorated by fomentation, using Magnesia-phos is very effective.
